A Positive First Step Into Martial Arts for Young Kids
Tiny Champs is our Jiu-Jitsu class for children ages 3 to 5. It is a playful, structured introduction to martial arts where little ones practice moving their bodies, listening to a coach and taking turns with other kids.

What Young Kids Practice in Class
At this age, classes are about movement and participation, not competition. Children practice rolling, crawling, balancing and simple Jiu-Jitsu positions through games and short drills.
Along the way, they get used to following instructions in a group, waiting their turn and trying again when something feels hard. Every child develops at their own pace, and progress looks different for each family.
- Coordination and basic movement skills
- Listening and following simple instructions
- Taking turns and working with a partner
- Getting comfortable in a group activity
How the Kids Program Is Organized
Children are grouped by age so the pace of each class fits the kids on the mat. As your child grows, they move into the next group:
| Class | Ages |
|---|---|
| Tiny Champs | 3–5 |
| Kids A, B and C | 6–8 |
| Juniors A and B | 9–13 |
| Teens | 14–18 |
Common Questions From Parents
Is my child ready? Many 3- and 4-year-olds are shy at first, and that is normal. The trial class is a low-pressure way to see how your child responds.
Is it safe? Classes take place on padded mats with a coach guiding every activity. Drills are designed for small bodies and short attention spans.
